The Stan Cassidy Centre for Rehabilitation (SCCR)
was established in 1957 to treat New Brunswickers with a variety of
impairments and disabilities. The vision of its founder, Fredericton
businessman, Stan Cassidy, was to help disabled New Brunswickers return
to more independant and pleasurable lives.
In 1994 the Minister of Health and Community
Services, Dr. Russell King, designated the SCCR as the provincial
centre to deal with the most complex neurological rehabilitation cases.
The Centre is staffed by a variety of
disciplines working together to ensure the optimal level of client
function. Our professional staff includes Clinical Dieticians, an
Educational Resource Consultant, Nurses, Occupational Therapists,
Physiotherapists, Psychologists, Physiatrists, Recreational Therapists,
Pastoral Care, Social Workers and Speech Language Pathologists. This
program is part of Region 3's Reconstructive/Restorative Care Services
and is provided in both official languages.
Referral to the SCCR is provided by your
physician, although enquiries may come directly to the Centre.
