Purpose:
- To provide research, development and clinical service in the fitting of prostheses and other devices for adults and children with limb loss.
Clientele:
- Referral by physician with a letter sent directly to the Institute or to the Fredericton Limb Deficiency Clinic.
The Program:
- Team includes prosthetists, physicians, technicians, an occupational therapist and engineers.
- Provides powered prostheses.
- Provides adapted devices for work, sports and recreation.
- Functional and cosmetic prostheses for people with partial hand amputations and specialized lower extremity prostheses.
- Second largest North American centre specializing in upper extremity powered prosthetic fittings.
