Purpose:

  • To provide research, development and clinical service in the fitting of prostheses and other devices for adults and children with limb loss.

Clientele:

  • Referral by physician with a letter sent directly to the Institute or to the Fredericton Limb Deficiency Clinic.

The Program:

  • Team includes prosthetists, physicians, technicians, an occupational therapist and engineers.
  • Provides powered prostheses.
  • Provides adapted devices for work, sports and recreation.
  • Functional and cosmetic prostheses for people with partial hand amputations and specialized lower extremity prostheses.
  • Second largest North American centre specializing in upper extremity powered prosthetic fittings.
