Pharmacists

A pharmacist is the drug expert of the health care system and has a unique knowledge of medications and their interactions with each other, food, alcohol, disease and lifestyle, as well as their effects on the human body. A specialty of the profession are "compounding pharmacists", who may provide customized medication. Instead of a standardized dosage or format, a compounding pharmacist may provide a drug in a preservative or colour free form, or as a combination of medicines in a single dose. Instead of a capsule, the medicine may be prepared as a gummy bear, a flavoured liquid, or as a cream or suppository.

In the Moncton area, Ford's Apothecary is the only compounding pharmacy.
