This division of METS supports individuals in obtaining and securing work, training, or volunteer placements in community-based settings. This is facilitated through a variety of means which is based on individual need.
SERVICES PROVIDED:
Job Development: Locating and securing community-based placements through direct employer contact.
Pre-Employment Skills: Providing counseling skills relating to pre-employment, (ie: resume writing, career planning). Depending on the individual need, this service is provided on a 1-1 basis or in a group situation.
Supported Employment: Programmatic support provided through the supported employment model to teach work skills and give necessary supports which will enable the individual to be socially integrated in their job.
Work Training: Programmatic support provided in a community-based setting with the intent to teach marketable skills for future employment or volunteer placements.
Monitoring: Provides professional follow-up of performance through periodic evaluations, telephone contact, and on-site visits for the duration of the placement.
Academic Upgrading Program: Provides academic upgrading to disabled adults.
Individual Service Planning: A developmental process resulting in a personalized plan of action. The main element of the process is the completion of a comprehensive Client Profile from which specific goals and objectives are determined.
