A Little Help From My Friends - depicts two young adults, one at University and one finishing high school, and talks about what it means to have autism and Asperger's Syndrome. A younger child is also shown.

Autism-Little Victories - discusses the main criteria for a diagnosis of autism. Professionals give their views and parents share their experiences discovering that their child has autism and learning how to help. Children with autism of different ages in various environments are highlighted.

The Education of Ashleigh Davies - shows Ashleigh, a student at Westcot Elementary School, about to make the transition to high school. Outlines how Ashleigh's integration into the regular school system was accomplished and gives the broad view of education being more than a 9 to 5 affair.

Transitions - deals with a variety of changes which may be difficult for individuals with autism. It discusses small changes such as moving from one activity or room to the next one as well as larger transitions such as elementary to high school or school to work.

An Interview With Dr. Peter Szatmari The Geneva Center
Dr. Peter Szatmari, a psychiatrist, responds to questions concerning Pervasive Developmental Disorders including autism, Asperger's Syndrome and POD-NOS. Topics include how a diagnosis is made, some implications for programming and diagnostic characteristics for these different sub-groups, Dr. Szatmari is Director of the Pervasive Developmental Disorder Program at Chedoke Child and Family Centre, Chedoke-McMaster Hospitals.

Includes insights from more able individuals with autism or Asperger's Syndrome and their families, and practical strategies from teachers and services providers to help families, educators and others to assist individuals with POD to learn, live and work in their school, homes and communities.

Social Stories and Comic Strip Conversations: Unique Methods to Improve Social Understanding - Presented by Carol Gray.
She explains the difficulties which individuals with autism/POD have in understandinq the social behaviour of others and knowinq how to initiate and sustain social interactions. Carol explains how she devised the Social Stories strategy which has proven to be a very successful teaching tool.
