ASNB's "Autism 101" power point presentation
awarded top National prize

The Canadian Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists Awards and Recognition Committee has selected "AUTISM 101" as the 2002 recipient of the Media Award/Audiovisual Category.

ASNB would like to thank Rhonda Rubin for the many hours she put into this. It's come from our rough draft to the current comprehensive, polished presentation, thanks to her efforts.

Thank you as well to the parents, children, and professionals who allowed their photographs to be used - and to the many people who provided input on the former versions.

BUT - we're not done yet!

This presentation is in English only. If you or anyone you know would be willing to attempt a rough translation of a few pages, please contact us at autism_nb@yahoo.com

Autism 101 was made using PowerPoint, and can be easily adapted for specialized uses. Pamela Bryson-Weaver is working on an adapted module for dentists, and we have a medical module in the works for physicians. If you have ideas for another audience, let's talk!

It's scheduled for presentation to the Foster Parent's Association, the NBTA Elementary Subject Council, and on Saturday June 8 at 10 a.m. at the Moncton Hospital (open to everyone - please contact ASNB to reserve a seat). It would be nice to put it to as much use as possible, but to do that we need more volunteers. If you'd be willing to consider speaking to groups in your area, let us know and we can set up a time to go through the CD and guide with you.

"AUTISM 101", ASNB's national award-winning presentation. Let's run with it!
